The research outcomes reported throughout this thesis provides a novel contribution to the development of CeO2 NPs as a radioprotection adjuvant to radiotherapy. The development of an in-vitro model enabled investigations of the biocompatibility of nanoceria and its subsequent efficacy to provide radiation protection to cells exposed with X-ray radiation sources.
