In December 2009, the Centre for Health Service Development (CHSD), University of Wollongong, was appointed by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) as the National Evaluator of the Asthma Management Program (AMP) 2009-10 to 2012-13. This is the seventh of eight evaluation progress reports which will be prepared over the course of the evaluation. This report provides a summary of the activities carried out by CHSD from 1 March 2012 to 30 June 2012. As the National Evaluator, the role of CHSD is to evaluate the Program as a whole, as well as to provide support and assistance to each of the funded initiatives within the Program. The requirements of the evaluation, as specified in the Request for Quotation are to: - Develop an Evaluation Framework for the Asthma Management Program 2009-10 to 2012-13 - Undertake the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the effectiveness, appropriateness and efficiency of the AMP until February 2013, including a mid-term review - Report and make recommendations, mid-term and end of period, based on the findings from implementation of the AMP Evaluation Framework. CHSD is undertaking a range of both one off and ongoing activities over the course of the AMP to ensure that the project objectives in the Request for Quotation are realised. This includes undertaking various data collections, maintaining communication with the funded initiatives, DoHA and other stakeholders, producing a set of progress reports, and completing mid-term and end of term reviews of the AMP and its funded initiatives. This report provides an update on activities that have occurred in this reporting period, namely, data collection and analysis activities, including reviews of projects' progress reports.
