This work reports the temperature dependence of Raman spectra for aerographite and single-walled carbon nanotube aerogel at frequencies of 100–4000 cm−1, using a 514-nm laser in temperature range 80–300 K. Positions of the main Raman features (D and G bands) in both aerographite and single-walled carbon nanotube aerogel display the “red-shifting” behavior with increasing temperature. This is attributed to the softening of the carbon–carbon bonds stretching and bending, which is due to thermal expansion of the lattice and anharmonic coupling of phonon modes. This will help better understand the optothermal properties of sp2 carbon-based aerogels, which show thermal management applications of sp2 carbon-based aerogels.
