Teaching journalism in Guangzhou

At the core of an effort to teach journalism in English to students in the People’s Republic of China is the question whether there is a point to exposing—for want of a better term—western values to students. They will work under a one-party, totalitarian police state which closely monitors a state-owned news media designed to suppress the bad news and exploit the good for the benefit of the Communist Party of China.
