Effects of B2O3 in precursor B powder on MgB2 critical current density

A purifying process was used to remove the B2O3 from the oxidized B powder. The samples made with purified B powder show higher Jc. The improvement of the Jc was attributed to the remove of the B2O3 from the B powder, and correspondingly, causing less MgO in the MgB2 during the later sintering.
