A novel and low-cost FeP anode with a high capacity of 764.7 mA h g-1 synthesized by a ball-milling method is reported for sodium ion batteries. Ex situ X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy have been used to explore the sodium storage mechanism of FeP.
