While discussing coal permeability testing, it is often asked what constitutes a successful test and why. An understanding of these concepts will assist the development of an optimum test program that uses appropriate test equipment and procedures. This approach will provide reliable results, which in turn will improve the design, exploitation and economic recovery of gas and coal resources.
