Sunrise Saviour?
Abstract
The "sunrise" industries policy has undoubtedly been a major political success for the new ALP federal government. Against a backdrop of continuing crisis in Australian industry, the "sunrise" industries appear as symbols of hope and regeneration, promising a bright new industrial dawn, and giving credence to the election propaganda of a " campaign of national reconstruction". Moreover, they are said to be the harbingers of the socalled "technological revolution".
