Abstract
The Russian Revolution of 1917 revealed to Marxists two new facts: that proletarian revolution could begin elsewhere than in developed capitalist states, and that the resulting non-capitalist socioeconomic structure could be maintained, in the face of world capitalist opposition for a lengthy historical period. And that was all that it did reveal.
