We're terminal adolescents, us Australians. As a nation, we're unsure of ourselves, prone to noisy bouts of bragging followed by sulky silence. We have never lionised our history the way other nationsdo.We have no Thomas Jefferson, no Samuel Johnson, no Danton. Fortunately, we do have a queen.
