Abstract
The results of an investigation into the processes of erosion occurring in the Bungonia District of the Southern Tablelands, NSW Australia are presented in this thesis. The Bungonia District contains numerous examples of erosion gullies which have resulted from processes of tunnelling and gullying. Three erosion sites {Winston Gully, Bungonia 2 and Bungonia 3) were investigated in terms of the processes occurring and various physical and chemical soil properties. Large erosion gullies such as Winston Gully not only render agricultural land unproductive, but are suspected of contributing large quantities of sediment into the Shoalhaven River Catchment.
