Abstract

This thesis explores the separation and purification of proteins using novel conducting electroactive polymers. Polymers such as polypyrrole, polythiophene and polyaniline have been widely studied in recent years. The present work focuses on the use of polypyrrole (PPy) membranes in model systems designed for the separation of certain proteins.
