Abstract

Studies were undertaken to elucidate the in vivo immunchemical nature of the antigen revealed when autologous erythrocytes are treated with the proteolytic enzyme, bromelain. The primary aim of this thesis has been to identify the molecular form of the BrMRBC antigen normally found in vivo either on bromelain-treated mouse erythrocytes or in its naturally antigenically detectable form in the mouse gastrointestinal tract.
