Abstract
This chapter discusses music festivals in the contexts of attempts to stimulate tourism, migration, and regional development, through drawing rural communities together and creating a new element of what has been seen as the 'post-productivist economy,' the switch toward service industries, rural tourism,and the creativity economy.
