Abstract
As a medical practitioner with an interest in military medicine and to a lesser extent the history of medicine, I have been hoping to find an accessible book on the history of military medicine in the period between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. this review therefore is less interested in the historical techniques and methodology used in the various chapters, but instead explores the impact of the book on a general reader with some knowledge of the area.
