Abstract

Working in different health systems and experiencing them on a day to day basis naturally goes along with constantly comparing with own technology and gained skills and also assessing against standards in one's home country. The author of this poster has been working since 2005 in England, New Zealand and Australia. In the Anglo Saxon countries the term AUDIT is treated with almost religious respect. The Terms Quality assurance or quality control, which are a part of everyday life in Germany, are hardly ever used. The surgical colleges and the medical boards in England, New Zealand and Australia (Royal College of Surgeons, Australasian College of Surgeons, GMC, MCNZ, AMC) on their websites give advice and guidance on how to perform Audits.
