Abstract
The Zeeman theory of hydrogen and neutral helium lines is used to analyse the spectrum of the magnetic DBA white dwarf Feige 7. On the assumption of a centered dipole field distribution and a uniform chemical composition, the atmospheric helium to hydrogen ratio by number is found to be approximately 100. However, it is argued that either one or both of these assumptions are likely to be in error.
