November 2013 meeting report : National Boer War Memorial

Abstract

The November speaker, Tony Larnach-Jones, who is the Deputy national President of the National Boer War Memorial Association, presented a very enjoyable and informative talk on the background of the Boer War in South Africa between 1899 and 1902. Trooper Frank Andrews was killed in the Boer War at Ottoshoop in 1900 and a memorial was erected by the citizens of Wollongong in June 1902. This memorial is now in MacCabe Park.
