Abstract
This chapter provides a brief practical overview of some of the key technical issues in law of the sea dispute resolution. This process is taken to encompass the generation of maritime claims and the delimitation of maritime boundaries whether through bilateral negotiations or by recourse to third party means of dispute resolution. The treatment of technical evidence and the role of technical experts in a law of the sea dispute resolution - both in the context of negotiations and through third party means - is then addressed. Ways of overcoming problems related to the treatment of technical evidence in maritime boundary delimitation are then examined.
