Abstract
The two guest editors of this special issue, “Shaping Space: Textiles and Architecture,” have a friendship and professional relationship that spans the hemispheres of the world between Australia and Europe, mirroring the geographical and intellectual scope of the authors of this special issue of Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture. We met in Poland, at the memorable Distant Lives/Shared Voices symposium in Lodz in 1992, an international gathering that set in motion many possibilities for the intersection of textile scholarship and creative practice.
