Redgate, J 2010, Objectophelia Laneway Exhibition, Laneway Exhibition, Brisbane City Council, exhibition opened 18 June 2010.
A modern form of fetishism, Objectophilia explores our love of objects in the laneway of Spencer Street in the Brisbane CBD. Curated by Anna Zammit the show brings together works by Australian and international artists playing with art objects on video as part of Brisbane City Council’s Inhabit Fiesta – a celebration of laneways, and the forgotten spaces of our city. This exhibition looks at artistic practices that project love, value and celebrity onto objects of art.
