The buckling tendency of jets and wakes

Abstract
This paper describes the apparently inherent property of a staggered-grid, control volume computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique to reveal the meandering or buckling shapes of jets and wakes. An attempt is made to provide an explanation. It is speculated that the the ratio of relaxation parameters scales as the inverse of the so-called 'buckling number'
