Abstract
51Cr is produced using 11 MeV protons through 51V(p,n)51Cr reaction. Target is prepared in form of V2O5 pellet enclosed by an aluminum shell containing a water cooling system, two jets on each side of the pellet. Chromium and vanadium are radiochemically separated followed by production yield measurement. The production yield is compared, on the one hand, with the theoretical calculations carried out by different nuclear models and, on the other hand, with a corresponding simulated yield performed by Monte Carlo method. The results show a good agreement with each other.
