Abstract

To study the distribution characteristics of scattered light in apple tissue. Methods: The technology of laser and computer vision were used to analyze the scattering intensity distribution of the natural state, the peeled, the cuboid apple from the optical point. Results: Apple internal light field was a spherical distribution. Light spot image formed apple section in the horizontal and vertical distribution of light intensity was similar to the Gauss distribution, and brightness contour approximated to two multinomial distribution. The apple peel had the absorption effect on light, so that the range in monolayer tissue was bigger than that of the double organization diffusion. In the same radial distance, brightness contour outward shift caused by the changes of apple radian. Conclusion: The size and intensity distribution of scattering light field in apple tissue were affected by fruit shape and peel. The experimental results from the optical point for the use of laser image method provided reference to realize the nondestructive detection of fruit internal quality.
