Abstract
The 6th International Symposium on Green Mining (6th ISGM) was co-hosted by the University of Wollongong (UOW) and China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Australia, 24-26th November 2013. The symposium attracted more than 150 delegates from China, the US, Japan, Poland and Australia to discuss the latest developments in sustainable mining practices. The ISGM series, organised annually by the State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining, CUMT, has been held in China since 2008 and has been well recognised by Chinese scholars and coal mining operators as the most important forum to present and discuss the latest technologies and research outcomes related to all aspects of "Green Mining".
