Abstract

DAFMAC is an opportunistic cooperative diversity protocol designed to improve the performance of Ad-Hoc networks. Monte Carlo analysis has shown promising results for significantly improved reliability. This paper presents initial experimental results from an implementation of DAFMAC on commodity hardware. Performance in a simple experimental scenario is shown to be comparable to simulation results. Index Terms—Ad-hoc networks, cooperative diversity, wireless mesh networks, MAC layer.
