Abstract
Short catalogue essay, an extract from the "tempo taking time" essay, on Norrie's Enola 2009, thinking about how cinema is constructed through history and how scale can completely displace our sense of the frame and the body before it.
Concerned with the future of our planet, Susan Norrie’s work combines fictional film and real events to explore the environment and various humankind catastrophes. Enola pictures a world mummified as a result of nuclear trauma. SHOT - a new commission for Edinburgh International Festival 2009's exhibition.
