Abstract
The telecommunication sector in Malaysia has seen significant growth and structural changes over the last few decades. As such, it is of no surprise that the incumbent national telecommunication company, Telekom Malaysia (TM) also underwent massive changes that included changes in ownership and business portfolios. In terms of performance, this paper found efficiency improvements for the national telecommunication company post privatization as compared to its public-ownership years. The company’s performance saw efficiency improvements in both its fixed line and overall business sector.
