Aims & Scope
ASJ publishes inquiring and critical academic work by both new and established scholars whose work focuses on animals and human relationships with other animals. The journal aims to be a leading international forum for the dissemination and discussion of animal studies research and creative work.
ASJ aims to support and promote scholarship and scholarly exchange within animal studies, with a view to the advancement of positive human-animal relations.
ASJ reflects the Australian Animal Studies Group’s commitment to fostering a community of animal studies scholars, scientists, creative artists and animal advocates. Material for the journal comes from a wide range of perspectives, across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of this field.
