Abstract
Population data systems have been used by demographers to provide contemporary data for government planners and other groups. Recently, the use of population data systems has been used to explore the history of Indigenous populations in new settler societies in Canada and the United States. This article is the beginning of a collaborative project applying the use of population data systems to Australias Indigenous population that will contribute to the research being done internationally.
