Abstract
Giovanni Berlinguer represented the Italian Communist Party at the 27th National Congress o f the Communist Party o f Australia in June 1982. He is a Deputy in the Italian parliament and a member o f the Central Committee o f the PCI. He is well known fo r his writings on industrial health. During his visit to Australia he participated in a meeting in Melbourne on June 15,1982, with representatives o f the Japanese Communist Party on the theme "The Future o f Socialism — Is there a Third Way?"
