Vietnam: One Year After
Abstract
April 30, 1976, marked the first anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war. But it cannot be said that serious analysis of the meaning of this event has yet gone very far. Stereotypes such as “world-shaking victory of the national libe ra tion movement” and ‘ dangerous advance of the forces of communism in Southeast Asia” amount not to analysis but to little more than special political pleading by those who supported one side or the other in the conflict.
