Abstract
A number of important anniversaries will be marked in 1976, some by this journal. The highly publicised United States bicentenary seems likely to become a major public relations exercise for the “American way-of-life" and an opportunity for considerable public spending in the interests of that theme. Whatever other economies are on the list of the Fraser government, its “great and powerful ally” isn’t one.
