Abstract
The Battle of Stalingrad is widely recognised as the turning p oint of the Second World War in Europe. Th a t it was also the turning point o f the war in Asia and the Pacific isn’t so widely believed, but it is the only inference to be drawn from a passage in Sir Alan Watt’s new book on Australian foreign policy.
